The Turks & Caicos Wedding of Carissa & James {03.31.12}

4.20.12

We are reliving our time in Turks & Caicos through these wonderfully vibrant photos from Brilliant by Tropical Imaging!  Ileana and her team at Brilliant are amazingly talented.  There are too many wonderful photos to share with you — so we’ve tried to narrow them down to the selection below.

Our time on the island was unforgettable.  Carissa & James have been wonderful to work with, and their wedding was the most spectacular way to officially kick off our  2012 wedding season.  To the bride & groom:

“Thank you Carissa & James!   You are both truly wonderful people, who together are a beautiful couple.
We were so thrilled to be able to play a part in your special day.  All the very best to you both!”  -

 ——————–To everyone else, enjoy these wonderful images——————-

Welcome bags for all the guests at their respective hotels, included local Turks beer, a bottle opener, local Turks water, sunscreen, chapstick, and an itinerary for the weekend’s events:

Crisp, sunny bright days — every day during our time in Turks.  But the wedding day, was extraordinarily divine:

The dress: Pnina Tornai {she personally dressed the bride on the day she found the dress!}

Lovely shoes {I have no idea how Carissa was jammin’ in those shoes — you’ll see her moves further down}

They had a large bridal party, which was a blast.  The guys and the ladies were all super cool, and laid back.

 Ok… so by now it is evident that the bride is super photogenic.  Well — she’s also a dancer. {amazing shots to follow}.

Everyone was in such great spirits.  Super supportive bridal party {A+}

Before the magic.

Ceremony begins…

 Rev. Padmore get’s a two thumbs up!  Not only funny, but professional, and just great at what he does!

Correy Fobes…. what can I say?  Music was perfect — just perfect.  His team played live during the ceremony and cocktail hour, and then DJ’d the reception.

Here comes the bride!

I always love the look on the groom’s face.

Proud papa with his daughter!  Carissa’s dad was awesome!  I love meeting the parentals, after knowing the couple during the wedding planning journey.

I had a sneak peak of their vows.  And yes… it was a tear jerker.

Husband and Wife!

Awww…. the beach.

This is a real sunset.

While all these wonderful sunset shots were taking place, we were over in the reception area getting everything…
just perfect.

The *message in a bottle* escort cards:

The details –

{all of the table names were places Carissa & James have traveled to}

 Environmental Arts are amazing florists in Turks & Caicos.  We met with them 2 days before, and had a mini design charrette with them, us and Carissa & James — they listened carefully, and came up with this creative centerpiece design.  It was perfect:

Custom menus

Cocktail Hour

Signature cocktail, is a blend of the couple’s names:

Over to the reception area…

First Dance

The cake.

The surprise “grooms cake” !  Carissa had this cake designed especially for James, so imagine his surprise when it came out right after they cut their cake:

Dancing!

Then viola!  Timed to perfection to Katy Perry’s “Firework” — the lights in the sky, surprised Carissa.
It. Was. Perfect.

And to top the night off… cigars.  Fresh.

More pics from our November 5th wedding, from Stak Photography!

2.17.12

We are excited to share these photos from Victoria & Jonathan’s wedding last November 5th, 2011.  The Stak team, never ceases to amaze me — they capture the coolest elements from each wedding, and always seem to truly exhibit the essence and mood of the entire day.

Thank you for sharing these Steven & Tak!

The engagement photo book (by Stak ofcourse!)

This is a peak in to the ED day of books.  We create them for every single wedding.  I love that Stak captured these!

Off to get married!

{Vanessa our dedicated bridal attendant, made certainVictoria was cared for!}
See how relaxed the bride and her mom are??

Jonathan rode the subway on the way to the ceremony.  Really cool idea.  Really cool groom.  And ofcourse, really cool photographers captured this — with much style.

{did we mention how ridiculously good looking this couple is?}

more bouquets…

The bride and her girls…

Ceremony highlights.  This is true, sincere, raw emotion.  Love.

Did I already mention what a good looking couple this is?  Well they’re also super nice, AND funny.

Seriously — there were just too many great shots to pick from.

The area near Smack Mellon is an ideal backdrop.

Time for cocktail hour.
Up next, a barber shop quartet: Round Midnight Quartet.  Perfectly dressed to fit the wedding color palette.

Decor for November…

Smack Mellon, is an exhibit space.  So the walls are a white blank canvas.  We thought it was the perfect opportunity to use decals.  The groom chose this song, to express a very lovely sentiment.  Do you know the song?

…any guesses?

And the name of the song is…

There were escort cards, AND place cards that doubled as menus.

The food was YUM.  Sage events is amazing.
Seriously — Leslie {the owner} puts an immense care in to the menu creation.  They’re one of our favorite caterers!

Oh the lanterns!  We had 16″, 24″ and 36″ chinese lanterns to incorporate.  We created a “wall”.
It should be noted, these ceilings are like 25′.

Fantastic shots!

During her turn on the mic, the bride spoke words of appreciation to all of the vendors.
It was extremely thoughtful, and definitely made us all proud:)

Then the dancing started!

DJ Duane with 74 Events, is spectacular!  The entire team at 74 Events rocks the house every time!

This exterior corner shot is so serene.  Well done Stak team!

Lounge furniture provided a reprieve for guests (from all the dancing!).  Studio 4Event productions has unique pieces.  With this space being industrial, yet rich with texture, we needed specific pieces to complement the overall event design.  Cognac suede and leather pieces did the trick!

Nine cakes, yum!

Big bite!

The bride made all of these wedding favors!

We are not yet done.
Up next, Wafles & Dinges, waffle truck!!!
{this is when the shenanigans began}I had one with bacon.  Oh man!  No words.

Moments…

Then it was time to go!

BUT… before it all ended, we DID have a silly moment with our lovely couple at the photo booth:
{I love my team. I love our clients.}
